What brands do you use?

Do you offer Airbrush makeup and lashes?

Yes, we use both Temptu Airpod and Airbase.  We offer an optional upgrade to Airbrush makeup, and premium brand strip lashes if required, at no extra cost for all members of your bridal party. 

Can I book hair or makeup only?

Being a partnership of both hair and makeup experts is one of the main factors that makes us so very popular, and we work seamlessly together to give our brides the ultimate experience on their wedding morning.  There's much more factored in than just the hair styling or makeup application alone.  If we were to take on a booking of hair or makeup only we would then have to turn away multiple enquiries from brides eager to book us as a complete team.  So the short answer is 'no'. 

However, if you've booked your wedding out of season on a weekday then we will make exceptions.  Price on application. 

How far do you travel?

There's no limit to how far we'll travel for our brides and traveling is a part of the job we particularly love.  The majority of our weddings are dotted around the North East of England and the National peak district but we often venture much further afield and have mastered the art of packing our kit with the consideration of getting it through airport customs.   

What are your travel expenses?

We cover the first 30 miles from our Sheffield studio (S1 4FS) at no cost.  Mileage which exceeds this will be charged at £1 per mile and applies to the journey there and back. 

For example, if your venue is 50 miles from our studio the total cost would be £40. 

Please consider that we are a team and travel expenses are relevant to cover the additional expense to us and also the extra time added to our working day as a result of traveling those extra miles.  If you were to book a seperate hair stylist and makeup artist you would have to pay two lots of travel expenses!

If the journey exceeds 2.5 hours we may require hotel accommodation on the evening before your wedding to avoid the risk of potential traffic delays. We can't think of anything worse than arriving late! 

Can I visit your studio for a trial before I book?

Yes, absolutely!

You should be aware, however, that our studio appointments get booked up quite far in advance, especially during the height of wedding season. It's unlikely that we'll manage to offer you an appointment immediately so you would run the risk of loosing out on the date in the meantime.  We do not hold a date without a non refundable £100 deposit due to demand.

What is the booking process?

The first step is to find out if we can offer you availability.  We strongly advise you do this asap as we receive bookings up to two years in advance and currently take on over 70 wedding bookings per year.   

Once you've completed our contact enquiry form one of our team will respond.  We aim to reply withing 24 hours but expect to wait a little longer if it's over a weekend when we are busy.  

You'll be given the opurtunity to secure your date immediately by paying a £100 deposit by dirct bank transfer (account details will be provided).  This amount is deducted from the final balance.  If we dont hear back from you with 24 hours we will release the date and it will be offered to others without notice. 

Once your deposit is received you'll receive payment receipt and booking confirmation along with lots of useful information about your trial.  You are required to read and accept our terms and conditions and have a 7 day 'cooling-off' period during which we will offer a full refund of your deposit without question.  After this time you accept that you are entering into a contract and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions. 

When should I have my trial?

Around Three months before your wedding day is ideal.  It's not idviseable to have a trial too far in advance.  

What if my expectations are not met at the trial?

We really want you to be 100% happy with the look we create for you and aim to exceed your expectations where ever we can. 

We urge you to invest time into research before you book us, or any other hair or makeup artist, as we are all very different and our style will be evident when viewing our portfolios.  Social media and online reviews are also another good source to help you make the right decision. 

Where there are realistic expectations and good communication there is not usually a problem although you should always expect, and allow for, an element of 'trial and error' which is part of the process. 

Can I book a second trial?

Maybe you've had the back of your dress altered or you've decided you'd now like a veil and a different hairstyle to comliment it....

You only get one chance at a wedding day and we understand how important it is for every detail to be perfect.  This may mean that you change your mind on a few things along the way.  We would be delighted to have you return to the studio for an additional trial and are happy to offer a reduced rate of £50 for hair or £50 for makeup.  

How long does it take for each hair or makeup on the day?

We allocate a minimum of 45 minutes per hair or makeup per person.  Ideally 1 hour is preferred to allow for potential delays or interruptions but this is subject to the time available on the day.

For example 4 people requiring hair and makeup would total 6 hours.  If there are two members of our team sharing the workload they'd need 3 hours each.  If there are three of our team members sharing the workload they'd need 2 hours each and so on. 

Should I do anything in preparation for my trial?

It depends on your hair type and the style you have in mind for us to create but, generally, we'd prefer you to wash and blow dry your hair the day before and avoid heavy conditioners, serums or the use of hot irons.   We will advise further if a different aproach is necessary when it comes to your wedding day. 

Please note - we are able to offer a blow drying service on your wedding day but do not have hair washing facilities at the studio.  

It really doesnt matter to us if you'd prefer not to make the journey to our studio 'bare faced'.  It just means that you'll have the task of removing all traces of makeup when you arrive. 

We have a veil for you to try and hair accessories but you may wish to bring your own if you have them available. 

Terms & Conditions

It Is the resposibility of the named person (usually the bride) on the booking form to read and accept resposibility for all booking conditions and payments due.  By proceeding to secure a booking by paying a deposit you accept that you are entering into a contract with Jenn Edwards & Co. 

MINIMUM BOOKING FEES 

The package price, inclusive of both wedding day hair and makeup services, is non negotiable and the full amount will still be payable on the specified due date even if not all services included as part of the package are required. 

TRAVEL EXPENSES 

The first 30 miles from our Sheffield studio (S1 4FS) are covered at no charge. Mileage which exceeds this is charged at £1 per mile and applies to the journey there and back.  Where a single journey is over 2.5 hours, or severe weather conditions prevent us from traveling in the morning, we may require hotel accommodation with expenses paid.

DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS 

Immediate payment of a non-refundable, and non-transferable, £100 deposit is required before a date will be reserved.  Your £100 deposit is automatically deducted from the final balance which is due 1 month before your wedding day. Accepted menthods of payment: BACS transfer, Cheque, or cash.

Payments for trials are due at the time of the trial, or before. Accepted methods of payment: BACS transfer or cash only. 

LATE PAYMENTS 

Failure to pay the final balance by the specified due date will incur a £25 late payment charge.  

TRIAL AVAILABILITY 

Trials are offered at our Sheffield Studio only (unless otherwise arranged at the time of booking).  Open hours are Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm.

You are required to book in advance during high season when availability is limited. Evening and weekend appointments are not available due to the nature of the business and the commitment to our weddings.  In the event that you have to cancel or reschedule your trial we will require 7 days notice. After this time 50% of the trial price will be chargable. 

ALL DAY PACKAGES

(Maximum 12 hours) The start time will dictate the finish time. For example: an 08:00hr start = 20:00hr finish. Your Hair stylist and makeup artsists will arrive no earlier than 4 hours in advance of the time you and your bridal party wish to be ready for before the ceremony.  They will then take a 1.5 hour lunch interval during your ceremony but will use this time to clean down kit and move to another location if required. We are happy to move to another venue alltogether but the time it takes to travel will be added to the 1.5 hour lunch interval.

Subject to availability it may be a different team whom will take over during any point after the ceremony if your morning team have prior arrangements or another early start the following morning.  Additional hair or makeups added to the morning preperations will be charged as additional team members will need enlisting. Please note: additions cannot be made on the morning and will be refused.

WORKING WITH OTHER HAIR AND/OR MAKEUP ARTISTS  

We are happy to work with our associate hair and makeup artists where we are unable to provide all services required due to timing issues etc. We do not work with, or assist, hair or makeup artists that are unknown to us.  Should you appoint another hair or makeup artist, without informing us of your intentions and reasons for doing so, we have the right to terminate the contract without refund. 

CHANGES OR CANCELATIONS MADE BY YOU 

All contact, whether it be a general enquiry or a change to a booking, must be initiated by the bride only.

Additions can only be accepted if time/resources allow and we will require prior notice in order to make adjustments to schedules.  Payments for such additions must be made before the day. No cash on the day is accepted.  

You are required to give a minimum of 6 months notice should you wish to reduce services booked by members of your bridal party. After such time the full amount for services cancelled will still be payable.  

In the unfortunate event that you wish to cancel your booking in its entirety you are required to give a minimum of 6 months notice. After such time the full balance will still be payable by the specified due date. Deposits are non refundable and non transferable. 

CHANGES OR CANCELATIONS MADE BY US   

In the unlikely event that we, as a team, cannot attend on the day of your wedding, due to unforeseen and unfortunate events or circumstances, all payments will be immediately refunded (including deposit and trial fees).  We will work with you to find an alternative reputable stylist/artist or salon to cater for your requirements however, any such booking will remain solely the responsibility of yourself.  If we are forced to cancel within 4 weeks of your wedding day we will accept to pay up to £100 for any additional costs involved in securing an alternative hairdresser and makeup artist to provide 'like for like' services as stated on your original booking form.  Please note that we will require receipts from legitimate qualified hairdressers and/or artists working from an established business only.  

If one of our team members are unable to attend on the day, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, and we are unable to offer availability with another of our own team members, we will make attempts to appoint one of our associates. If this is not possible we will ask for an earlier start time to accommodate original numbers or will refund services which, are forfeited in part, or completely, as a result.  No further compensation will be given. 

If a member of our team is made to feel uncomfortable in any way, or if any of your bridal party, wedding guests, or other wedding vendors display abusive or offensive behaviour we have the right to terminate the contract without refund. 

Where there is a mismatch in style or approach, and you are not open to our professional advice or guidance, we have the right to terminate the contract without refund. 

In the event of extreme weather conditions, where the Met Office have issued a 'Red' warning, we have the right to cancel without refund.  Taking out wedding insurance is strongly advised if this is a concern. 

IN THE EVENT OF DELAYS EXPERIENCED ON THE DAY

If we experience unforeseen delays, which are out of our control, refunds will not be given in the event that one or more services are forfeited as a result and no compensation will be given if we overrun.  If you are aware of factors which could delay or hinder our journey, such as road closures, speed restrictions, match days, market days, satnav issues etc. please advise us as soon as possible so we can factor this into our route.

No refund or compensation will be given in the event of delays caused by other wedding vendors, guests, or members of your bridal party. A minimum of 45 minutes will be allocated for hair or makeup application per person. If you suspect any member of your bridal party may pose as a challenge in any way, they are encouraged to have a trial to avoid potential delays on the day.

CLIENT OBLIGATIONS – TRIAL & WEDDING DAY 

You must ensure that our team will be working in a suitable environment with adequate lighting, electricity points, and hand washing facilities.

Please ensure every member of your party is aware of timings on the day and that they need to be, and remain, available.

You are to inform us of any allergies or reactions prior to, or after, any makeup application or hair styling. If no known allergies are stated we cannot be held liable for any reactions, injuries, losses, damage, costs, claims and actions that may occur to you or any other member of your party.

Prior to having makeup applied or hair styled please ensure you and your party are prepared, to avoid leaving the chair whilst we are working. Please ensure teeth are cleaned, you have been to the toilet and contact lenses are applied (if applicable), before sitting in the chair. Also make sure you are make-up free, (we will prep your skin.)

On A wedding day, time is of the essence. Please ensure hair is clean, completely dry, and free from product. We advise washing the night before and avoiding heavy conditioners. If any of your bridal party has wet hair they will be expected to dry it thoroughly before we start.

Please do not eat or speak on your mobile phone during makeup application.

Please do not sit children/babies on your lap whilst having your hair styled or make-up applied. For their own safety please ensure that children are kept away from our styling tools and products at all times. Styling irons are extremely hot, and hazardous, and we will not be held responsible if a child is injured as a result of the parent or carer not being present.

PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGE COPYRIGHT 

It is imperative that we continue to update our portfolio for future prospective brides. Please let us know in advance if you do not wish to be photographed or if you are not happy for us to use your images for marketing purposes.
