THE GLOSSY STUFf

Jenn Edwards & Co. formed in 2012 - since then, my work portfolio focuses mostly on bridal work, however, with a career spanning 20+ years, I have worked on many large corporate events and photoshoots. My clients include Andrea Bocelli , Christine Allado, Elisa Balbo, Christine Campbell, and Jessica Ennis-Hill.

I have been a member of a highly acclaimed judging panel for The Wedding Industry Awards for the Best Hair Stylist and Best Makeup Artist categories since 2019, having won Regional Best in both categories for five years running (2014-2018).

In February 2023, I became a member of The Wedding Industry Awards judging panel for the Sustainable Wedding Business category alongside Michelle Miles, founder of The Sustainable Wedding Alliance, Katherine Ann Byam, Best Selli ng Author and Sustainability activist, Gwenda Jeffs, of Green Union , and Celia Gaze, the founder and Chief Executive of The Well Being Farm .

FROM THE HEART

I hope you'll come to discover that, despite my 'Glossy' CV, I don't take myself seriously, at all!
In order for my clients to feel comfortable and calm, I recognise that being candid is crucial in the way I work.

I follow many beauty influencers and leading educators and admire their confidence in front of a camera, but my relationship with makeup is altogether different.
I credit this to a background across multiple disciplines and believe this has been key to my creativity. I love art and design, in its many forms, and enjoy working with different media. I'm rubbish at pretty much everything but, put a brush in my hand, and I'm ahead of the game.

Whilst my ethos has remained unchanged, my business strategy has evolved over the years, and I feel that I've finally found the 'sweet spot' - everything works like clockwork with a harmonious work/life balance.

I spent several years allowing myself to be 'overworked', to facilitate a business that had grown at a rate I couldn't handle. Circa 2019 I managed a large team of hair and makeup professionals, working under my name, and had over 300 brides/clients on my books at any given time. I can honestly say that I experienced the highest highs during this time, but I hadn't realised I was heading for a breakdown because of the huge pressure and responsibility. When Covid came along in 2020, and life for everyone paused, I began a period of recovery, and my priorities became clear: family and my own wellbeing.

Today, I only take on bookings for myself, as the lead hair stylist and makeup artist, and my lovely Lois assists me.

On much bigger bookings, I'll rally individuals from the original Jenn Edwards & Co. team - Helena, Meg & Kari - whom I've had the pleasure of working with for several years. I miss them all terribly, but it's good to see them thrive in their own businesses and be able to support them, by forwarding perspective bookings that I can't accommodate.

In my free time I like to travel - when I return from one adventure, I get straight on to planning the next. Most of my hobbies were set aside when I became a Mum to my two gorgeous children, such as outdoor sports and scuba diving. Instead, I keep myself busy with gardening and am a keen reef tank hobbyist which keeps me busy in my spare time.

MEET LOIS

I was thrilled to have Lois join me full time in January 2023, having known her for several years, and having had the pleasure of working with her on weddings previously.
I have yet to meet a single business acquaintance, or client, that does not take an instant liking to her. She has a warm, engaging, enthusiastic nature and embodies my own values and passion for the business and the wider wedding community - being capable of creating beautiful 'clean' makeup looks, as well as being a competent in hair styling is a huge advantage.
